Counseling Center Services
The UNC Counseling Center offers many types of services including:
- Individual Counseling Sessions
- Couples Therapy
- Group Therapy
- Psychiatric Services
Your first visit (intake session) will give you an opportunity to meet with one of our staff to discuss your issues or concerns. Reasons for visiting the counseling center may include self discovery, relationship issues, stress, depression, grief or loss, and various wellness concerns.
Typically our services are short term in nature. The average student visits us for five to six sessions.
We look forward to discussing your individual needs to determine if our services are right for you.
All personal information discussed by students in counseling sessions is treated as confidential within the Center, with certain legally mandated exceptions. Counseling files are not a part of University records and cannot be accessed by parents, guardians, university personnel or faculty without the student's written permission. Additionally, your attendance at the Counseling Center cannot be verified without your written consent.
