Preparing to Graduate
Graduation Fair and CAp and Gown Rental
Your years of hard work are almost over and it's time to celebrate! Get everything you need for graduation at the Graduation Fair. The Fair is held at the University Center in front of the Bookstore. October 16th and 17th, from 10:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
At the Fair you can:
Rent your cap and gown
Order graduation announcements
Pre-Order your commencement DVD
Have your picture taken in full regalia
Visit with campus offices, such as the Graduate School, Career Services, Bear Logic and the Campus Recreation Center
Plan your party with the help from Catering Services
Be welcomed into the UNC Alumni Association
Enter in a free drawing
If you are unable to attend the Grad Fair, you still need to rent regalia for the ceremony. All regalia must be ordered by Tuesday, October 29. After this deadline the next opportunity to rent will be at distribution. Please see dates/times/location below for more information. Graduation announcements
Students may order announcements from any company they choose. However here are three options that UNC recognizes.

When ordering announcements, be prepared to provide the following information:
- College
- Degree
- Major
- Emphasis
- Minor
- Other
Cap and Gown Rental, Distribution, Return
If you’re planning on participating in graduation, it is your responsibility to rent a cap and gown. You can still rent your cap and gown during the distribution time periods:
- Distribution of regalia will take place at the University Center on Thursday, December 12th from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, December 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m..
A representative from the Herff-Jones company will also be available at Commencement line-up in the Campus Recreation Center one hour before the ceremony begins for adjustments to regalia accessories (tassels, hoods) and for last minute regalia distribution. The Herff-Jones representative will require cash only payment ( Bachelor Students - $59.50 • Master students - $81.25 • Doctoral students - $86.50); no credit cards or checks will be accepted for any orders made during Commencement line-up or distribution time period. All gowns will be returned immediately after the ceremony in the northeast corner of the Butler Hancock Fieldhouse. Your cap and tassel are keepsakes that do not need to be returned.
University of Northern Colorado regalia is specially made for UNC and is intended to be worn by UNC students only. It is mandatory that regalia ordered through UNC's designated company, Herff Jones.
