Deadlines

  1. March 2nd (Friday): Submission of a body count (students and faculty) that you estimate your chapter will be bringing to the meeting.
  2. March 30th (Friday): Submission of all Registration forms (one per chapter) and Author Data Sheets (one per presenter).

Registration and forms

The registration fee for the conference will be $60 for each attendee.  Registration fees can be paid by check (instructions on the registration form) or credit card by calling Elizabeth in the UNC biology office: 970-351-2921.

Maps of UNC, Greeley, and Colorado

Directions to UNC: The most direct route from almost anywhere is to take Interstate 25 to northern Colorado, then head east on U.S. Route 34, then turn left (north) on 11th Avenue in Greeley until you get to the UNC campus. 

Parking: The most convenient parking is located along 11th avenue between 23rd and 22nd streets (while traveling north).  No permits are required after 5:00 PM on Friday or over the weekend.  No overnight parking is allowed. This parking lot is directly across 11th avenue from Ross Hall where the meeting will be held.

  • 8:00-8:45 PM -- Keynote address: Dr. Nicholas Pullen, "What I like about Mast cells"

Afternoon excursions or free time

Off-campus

  • 12:00-1:00 -- Lunch on your own
  • 1:00-6:00 -- Field-trip options:
    1. A visit to three local microbreweries in Greeley (transportation provided) for tasting and learning about the types of beer and the brewing process. This will be led by Dr. Robert Reinsvold, our resident mycologist and beer expert, and an official judge at regional and national beer competitions. This excursion will be restricted to those age 21 years of age and older. Identification will be checked.
    2. A guided field-trip to Sylvan Dale Ranch in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Sylvan Dale Ranch is one of the most ecologically diverse areas of the Colorado Front Range and is approximately 30 minutes from Greeley (transportation provided). This visit will be guided by Dr. Dave Armstrong, resident naturalist at Sylvan Dale Ranch and Professor Emeritus, University of Colorado, Boulder. His approximately three-hour tour will explain the geology, biology, and history of the ranch that has been owned by the same family for over 100 years.

Saturday evening, April 14
