MCB Fall Banquet:

MCB Fall Banquet was a back to school bash outside of Kepner and gave students the chance to learn more about the clubs and organizations in the Monfort College of Business.

Oppenheimer hosted a Career Day in its Centennial office near the Denver Tech Center. They had a mini break out session and employees from fund accounting, corporate accounting, leadership development, and the transfer agency talked about their positions within the company. Oppenheimer is one of the leading investing companies in the Denver area that hires several UNC graduates a year.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority formerly known as the NASD is hosting its 14th annual Securities Seminar, on Friday, November 2nd. The Securities Seminar is similar to a career day, where speakers from several different firms come and talk only to UNC students at FINRA’s office in the Republic Plaza in downtown Denver. This year’s speakers include a research analyst, corporate finance, portfolio manager, and merger/acquisitions investment banker.

Stock Market Challenge is a volunteer opportunity for club members to get involved with the local community. The last two years Junior Achievement has put on a Stock Market Challenge at the CO’s BMW dealership and several area high schools participate by sending their top group of students to compete. FMA members volunteer to help out as traders on the floor, hand out press releases and hot tips, and run printer stations.

FMA fall banquet is where we induct our National Honor Society members and give them their sashes and pins for graduation. We also say good by to our graduating members and introduce our new officers for the up coming semester.
