Spend your summer scaling ancient Mayan temples, swimming in underground cenotes and discovering the vibrant culture of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. This program is open to students of all majors, and you can earn 6 credits in this hands-on, engaging summer session.

Students will fly into Cancún and immediately begin their Yucatán Expedition. Students will observe spikder monkeys in their natural habitat with Dr. Laura Vick who has spent 20 years researching the primates in the Yucatan. Students will have an experiential learning experience that combines lecture; service learning; and visits to historical, archeological, geological and ecological sites across the Yucatán peninsula.

Evenings will be mixed with cross-cultural meetings learning about Mayan customs and community life. Students will be actively engaged in the planning and cooking of dinners with host-country nationals.
