Earn 6 Credits: SOC 295 and SOC 302

In collaboration with the Arab American Foundation for Multicultural Education and Students Understanding (ARAMFO), UNC will be offering a summer study abroad program in Egypt. Studentscan earn up to 6 credits for SOC 302: Ancient Egypt: Society and Culture and/or SOC 295: Social Structure of Modern Egypt.

Class dates will be scheduled on the UNC campus prior to departing for Egypt. While in Egypt students will visit universities to meet and dialogue with students and professors. They will gain an in-depth understanding of Egyptian culture, history, and social structure. Additionally, students will tour some of the most important historic sites in the world including the Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Catacombs, Valley of the Kings, and more.

Attendance at the two dates above is mandatory in order to receive academic credit. Other pre-departure meetings will be completed online.

*All students wanting credit for the courses must be officially enrolled prior to April 27th.
