Drawn from all over the world, ESC Rennes School of Business permanent faculty has extensive experience teaching and working in a variety of countries and cultural environments. The school is comprised of students and faculty from 42 nationalities. Classes are taught in English allowing the integration of international students who do not have any or little knowledge of French.

Costs
Students will pay tuition and fees to UNC. They will pay all other expenses in France. The budget given in US dollars is an estimate and is subject to change dependent on exchange rates.

Location
Rennes is the capital of Brittany. Rennes has more than 200,000 habitants which about 40% are students. The city is classified as a city of art and history. In the old centre, you will find many medieval houses. Rennes is one of the top ten cities in France where French people prefer to live and work. The main industries in and around Rennes are: automobile and automotive industries, agribusiness, tourism, telecommunications, engineering companies, and service industries.

Activities
Rennes is a student centered city with tons of activities for students including student organizations, a vibrant nightlife, and several cultural attractions.
Courses
Students can take a wide variety of business courses taught in English. Students are required to also enroll in French language and culture classes (6 ECTS credits, which equals 3 UNC transfer credits. A placement test is organised on arrival in order to ascertain your level (beginners, intermediate, advanced,etc). The French culture classes take place in English except for the students who follow the advanced French classes. Undergraduate courses at Rennes are worth 5 ECTS each and graduate courses are worth 6 ECTS credits each, which transfer as 2.5 and 3 UNC transfer credits respectively. Thus, students will enroll in a minimum of 24 ECTS credits while at Rennes to maintain full-time enrollment at UNC.
The Monfort College of Business has approved ESC Rennes courses for transfer credit. MCB students whould contact Dr. James Reardon for details about transfer credits.
Once registered, you will be contacted by email 2-3 months before the start of the semester to make your on-line choice of classes. You will then choose your classes online.

Language of Instruction
English and French
Eligibility and Availability
To be eligible to apply students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and must have completed at least two semesters of courses at UNC. This program is open to MCB students and French students with no limit on the number of UNC students who can participate each semester. Students may apply for one semester or one academic year.
Housing and Meals
As most campuses in France, ESC Rennes School of Business does not have halls of residence. Therefore, students must rent private accommodation. ESC can help students find accommodation for their stay in Rennes. However, accommodation in Rennes needs plenty of planning and advanced reservation. Rent depends on the landlord, location, services, and equipment provided. Students are strongly recommended to reserve their accommodation as soon as they have been accepted to ESC. It is recommended students arrange permanent housing with the support of the school prior to departure.

The French are renowned for their food and amazing restaurants. Generally, there are three meals per day. There are plenty of restaurants around Rennes. A cafeteria is located on campus as well as university restaurants. A meal generally cost 3€ at a university restaurant.
Application
Students must first complete the UNC study abroad application. Applications will be evaluated and selections will be made immediately after the application deadline. If selected, the student will need to complete an additional admissions application for Rennes.
Visa
Students will need to apply for a Long Stay Student Visa if staying for longer than 90 days. Before applying for a visa students must complete an application with Campus France. Prior to completing the Campus France application, please be sure to read the application guidelines. Once the Campus France application is complete students will be given a validation number and may proced with their visa applicaton. The validation number will be used to make an appointment with the French embassy in Los Angeles. Students are required to apply for their visa in person at the consulate in Los Angeles.
French visas take a minimum to two weeks to process after the appointment in LA. No expediting is possible.

Once in country, students must register with their local OFII office. A French student visa permits travel around the Schengen area.. Students may leave and re-enter France (from outside the Schengen area) for 90 days from the date they first arrive in France. After this point, students must have the OFII vignette (sticker) in their passport or an "Attestation de dépôt de dossier OFII" (receipt of submission). Students who do not have one of these will need to apply for another visa to re-enter France.
