Grand Prize Winner for Best Photo Overall
Title: Chinese Village
Photographer: Andrea Montano
Description:The people, in my opinion, are the most interesting component of a study abroad experience. This photo graph was taken at a water village in China. This thin, narrow, cobble stone pathway gave way to various secrets and surprises through the ancient village. Peaking out through the various doorways were views of craftsmen at work and families engaged in daily life. This gentlemen, I suspect, was relaxing after lunch and taking in the warm rays of sunshine while taking in the view of the foreigners.
Peaceful Hideaway photo Winner for "If I Had a Hammer" Category
Title: Peaceful Hideaway
Photographer: Andrea Montano
Description:This history of the Chinese garden goes back over 2,000 years. Gardens are the most consistent component of traveling in China. Each garden is committed to providing the most beautiful landscape to satisfy the yin and yang in all of us. This peaceful hideaway allows you to escape the dynamics of urban life and enter a place that is heavenly. Their quiet (安靜) setting is comforting and provides an outlet to observe the intricate detail and craftsmanship that create the garden.
Eyes of Hope photo Winner for "Up Close and Personal" Category
Title: Eyes of Hope
Photographer: Kristen Lindemann
Description:his picture was taken in Cape Town, South Africa.  In such a poverty stricken country the people have overcome hardships and appear to be brave and eager to capture the gift of another day of life.  Immediately viewing this picture, one is drawn to the deep watery eyes of someone who is pleading for hope and compassion from those who bring gifts and attempt to understand the life of another. Each person may follow a different path creating a sense of individuality and strength.  These are young eyes that have had to face reality at a very young age and yet each still stands with such pride one can only admire their will.
