Title: Venetian Reflection

Description: In Venice, the first thing I encountered was beauty. When I stepped off of the train, I felt like I was walking into a completely different world. It’s not just about the wonder of the architecture. There is a mood in this city that screams art. The culture seems to revolve around the beauty found in art. I captured this reflection in a boat mirror while touring the city. I feel that it captures that artistic mood almost perfectly.

Description: Sacre Coeur – This Photo was taken on a day trip toward the end of my stay in Paris. I had seen this magnificent building from afar and was beyond impressed, absolutely one of my favorite structures in France. There were several hundred stairs up to the basilica, or so it felt. I was pleasantly greeted at the top by gypsies playing harps. From what I could tell by glancing at their harp case, they were making quite a bit of money. The inside was not as grand as the outside, which is built of travertine stone that holds calcite. This is what keeps the structure white even with weathering and pollution.

Description: This was taken when I was on a road trip to Taizhong, a city in the middle of Taiwan. I stopped at a small town outside of Taipei and these siblings were playing in a traditional Taiwanese rice field. The children really enjoyed having their pictures taken and were excited to see foreigners. Though the children did not speak English, they were eager to show us around their home. They were typical Taiwanese children; outgoing, polite and playful.

Title: The Misted Morning

Description: Cinque Terre means “five lands” in Italian. While staying in Cinque Terre, it is customary to hike through the five separate cities. The mountains of this area go right into the Mediterranean Sea. It was as if two remarkable landscapes of the world collided and created an amazing view for all dwell upon. While hiking, it was impossible not to stop and take pictures of the astonishing landscapes.
