Location Details:
Students will earn 6 credits fulfilling LAC requirements in category 6 and 7. The course will explore fundamental energy concepts, compare energy usage in China and the U.S., discuss solutions to energy production, and provide an understanding of Chinese language and culture. The course will begin with online instruction and then move to China where students will visit renewable energy companies, Chinese Homes, rural areas, schools, the 2010 World Expo, and several culturally significant sites. To gain a better understanding of Chinese culture students will participate in cultural exchange activities with Chinese students. While in China the program will travel to Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai.
Language Requirements:
No previous language experience necessary.
Room, Board and Living Information:
Throughout the program students will be housed in 3 or 4 star hotels and all meals will be included. |

Xi’an:
Bell Tower, Drum Tower, City Wall, Shanxi History Museum, Tang Dynasty Dance Performance, Terra Cotta Warrior Museum, Tang Dynasty Art Museum, Big-Goose Pagoda, and the Music Water Fountain.
Shanghai:
Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, 2010 World Expo, Acrobat Show, Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Museum, Suzhou City, and Watertown.

Estimated costs for summer program:
$3,600 – $4,000 includes 6 credits tuition, accommodations, all meals, all excursions, all ground transportation in China, and airfare.
