 The Rocky Mountain Children's Literature Conference at the University of Northern Colorado brings authors and illustrators into a small intimate setting to meet classroom teachers (preK-12), school and public librarians, teacher candidates, and others with a passion for bringing books and children together.  It also provides an opportunity for attendees to share books and ideas, have discussions, experience new literature, and revisit old favorites in small group interactive sessions. 

 

Conference Schedule:

Friday, October 3rd:

5:30-7:00 p.m. Check-in & On-site Registration

Dinner on your own at area restaurants

7:00-10:00 p.m. Keynote address by Jon Scieszka and Autographing Dessert Reception with all authors

 

Saturday, October 4th:

7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m.  Check-in & On-site Registration, Continental breakfast

8:00 – 10:00 Author Panel Discussion with all authors

10:00-12:30 Concurrent sessions

12:30-1:30 Lunch

1:30-4:30 Concurrent sessions

4:30-6:00 Autographing Reception with all authors

Concurrent session topics include:  best books for boys, teacher as writer, using primary sources through the Library of Congress, graphic novels, the reading lives of adolescent boys, award winning books, beginning readers, the Big Read - Fahrenheit 451, and MUCH more!

 Books by the featured authors will be available for purchase through the university bookstore at the time of the conference.
