CHE Computer Lab
We welcome all UNC students to stop by and utilize CHE’s computer lab equipment and software!!
Our computer lab houses 23 Intel iMacs, a scanner, and two printers (black and white printing available).
Computer software includes: Mac OS, Microsoft Office 2008, Adobe: Photoshop C53, InDesign C53, Dreamweaver C53, Illustrator C53, Flash C53, Final Cut Pro Studio 5.1 on scanning machine, JAWS 9.0, Zoom Text 9, Duxbury 3, Juliet Pro Braille, Wynn 4, OpenBook, Omnipage, Inspiration, ReadPlease.
As a service to CHE students, we also have computer laptops and cameras available to check-out on a needed basis through CHE’s front desk. For specific details, you may contact the CHE front desk at 970-351-1905.
The CHE computer lab is located on the south side of the Michener Library in the lower level. For any related questions of the services we provide you may call the lab at (970) 351-2996.
CHE Lab Hours
During the fall and spring semesters the CHE computer lab is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. The lab is closed Saturdays and Sundays.
During the summer the CHE lab is opened Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Other Labs on Campus
Additionally, there are nine UNC computer labs throughout campus. Lab hours may vary due to scheduled classes, semester breaks, etc.
NOTE: All computer labs are closed on days that the University is closed.

Bearmail is the University's web email system, all UNC students obtain a bearmail account once they are admitted. You must first activate your Bearmail account in order to use the university's systems that include Bear Drive, Blackboard, and URSA.
Follow the steps below:
- Click Activate, you will need your student assigned Bear number to activate Bearmail account.
- Don't know your bear number then click here. If you need to look up your Bear number then click Bear Number.
Students are not allowed to forward their Bearmail messages to an alternative email account like gmail or hotmail so this means you have to check your Bearmail account for any communications related to coursework. Check out the FAQs to learn more about Bearmail.
To be able to print at any of UNC's computer labs you must have a Pharos Print account. Access the Pharos Pay-For-Print link to learn how to manage your UNC pay-for-print account.
Through URSA (portal to UNC) system you can register for classes, look up your final grades, and much more!!
