Nina J. Askew, Peer Mentor
Hey y'all! My name is Nina and I will be a senior Africana Studies major this year! I absolutely love yoga and hiking and anything that involves having fun. I'm a pretty laid back person and like listening so music or watching some Duck Dynasty in my down time. So excited to get to know every single new CHE student...it's going to be a great year:)
Kimberlee Ward, Peer Mentor
Annyonghaseyo!, Hello! My name is Kimberlee Ward and I am a senior this year. I am currently majoring in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. I am one of the Peer Advisors here at CHE. Something that I hope to achieve this year is making a mark on my students and helping them realize their potential and help them achieve what they want to while at UNC. I want students to remember my smile and know that this is where I belong and where I want to be in the future, helping students!
Susana de la Torre, Peer Mentor
My name is Susana de la Torre and I am an Elementary Education major with an emphasis in ESL with Spanish, Bilingual/Bicultural endorsements. I love traveling, I studied abroad in the spring of 2013 and I was able to visit Rome, Morocco, Poland, Venice, Barcelona, Malta, Paris, Scotland and many more beautiful places!! I am a Daniels Fund Scholar and I am part of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. I was born in Los Angeles and was raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco. I enjoy scrapbooking and watching baseball, my favorite color is red and I am crazy about cheetah print. I look forward to being part of the CHE family and my number one goal is to work hard to support all of my mentees throughout their academic career. Have a great year everyone!!
Kacey Hilgenberg, Cumbres Peer Mentor
I am Kacey Hilgenberg and I am a junior Elementary Education Major with an endorsement to teach English as a second language. It has been my dream to be a teacher since I was in first grade! I am a member of the Cumbres program, the Math and Science Teaching for English Learners Grant, and the President's Leadership Program. I love to travel! My favorite travel place is Belize because the coral reef there is beautiful. I love sports, especially playing and coaching tennis. I was born in Loveland and I love Colorado and the mountains. I am so excited to be a peer adviser because I love supporting others and I want to share my passion for learning!
