Dreamweaver Basics and UNCO Templates(With Version 8)

Macromedia's Dreamweaver provides a solid tool to help you create and edit web pages for your site. In this workshop, you will 1) be introduced to UNC's web design guidelines and resources, 2) learn how to navigate the basic Dreamweaver interface, 3) perform basic editings tasks.

Description:

Dreamweaver Basics is most appropriate for faculty or staff who:

  • Are interested in creating a new website using the new UNCO templates for administrative areas
  • Are responsible for converting/maintaining/editing an existing website

Participants will create a simple website during this workshop. Workshop will be 1/2 instruction and 1/2 hands-on practice.

Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Create files from UNCO templates
  • Insert images into web pages, including alt tags
  • Create hyperlinks within and outside of your site
  • Create an achored index in a web page

Prerequisites:

  • Participants should have a basic understanding of web design and how the Internet works.
