Police Services

The University of Northern Colorado Police Department strives to provide a safe and secure campus, where the pursuit of higher education can take place while balancing liberties and responsibilities and respecting individual rights. The mission of the Police Department is to be a model in providing ethical, effective, efficient, and value-oriented law enforcement and support services.The UNC Police Department is a full service police agency with full police powers. UNC Police Officers are Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)-certified Level I Peace Officers in the State of Colorado and have the same police authority as all other Peace Officers in the State of Colorado. The University of Northern Colorado Police Department is responsible for law enforcement, criminal investigation, public safety, security, traffic control and emergency response at the University of Northern Colorado. The Police Department is located in Gray Hall, on the Greeley Campus. The department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to serve the Greeley campus.

Faculty, staff, and students can request a campus escort, submit a crime report, or request full UNC police services if on campus.

Faculty who teach at the centers in Loveland, Denver, and Colorado Springs should contact the local Police departments for non-emergency related issues. In an emergency, always contact 911.
