Arlene Hansen from the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will present this introduction to finding external grant programs to fund research, scholarship, instruction, student support, community outreach, etc.
This hands-on workshop is intended for faculty and staff members who want to identify funding opportunities that are the best fit for their interests.
Participants will learn to:
- Use funding databases to create searches targeted to their needs and interests
- Register for email funding alerts from the Grants Resource Center and other organizations
- Research potential funders to ensure a good “fit”
OSP will offer a follow-up workshop in the spring semester to provide in-depth instruction on using the SPINPlus funding and expertise database, which is scheduled for release of a new and much improved version in January.
