- Beginner

In this workshop, participants will learn the basic steps needed to create and edit a webpage using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. In this hands-on class, participants will learn how to navigate around Dreamweaver, insert images, insert and format text, and insert links. Participants will be able to:

  • Add Text and Format Headers

Intermediate Dreamweaver with CSS

Posters in Photoshop

In this workshop you will learn, step-by-step, how to create a poster using Adobe Photoshop. You do not need to have previous exposure to Photoshop for this workshop to be beneficial to you, and no previous skills are required.  Also you will learn how to create the QR code to show it in your poster.

Managing the Files in your Blackboard Course


This workshop introduces you to using the new Files system in Blackboard 9.1.  The Files system is a repository of files inside a Blackboard course.  In this workshop you will learn how to: organize your course files, upload individual files, upload multiple files using drag and drop, and add files onto a content page.  By following best practices in file naming and organization, you will be able to simplify your updating of course files from semester to semester.

Effective Use of Blogs, Journals and Wikis

Camtasia

Camtasia Basics

Camtasia can be used to create videos from PowerPoint Presentations, create video slideshows, create training tutorials, create video 'commercials', and much more. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Capture screen activity
  • Add narration to video
  • Convert Powerpoint to video (Flash or MP4)

Captions with Camtasia

Camtasia can be used to add captions to your PowerPoint video or slideshow to be in compliance with ADA regulations. Adding captions is quick and easy with Camtasia, all you need is your script in electronic or typed format. Upon completion of this demonstration, participants will be able to:

  • Use voice recording for captions
  • Add captions to a presentation video from an existing script
  • Copy/paste text from Word into a presentation video
  • Sync text with audio recording

Upon completion of this demonstration, participants will be able to:

Qualtrics -Survey Tool

Qualtrics is a web-based survey tool available to all UNC faculty and staff to support survey research and program evaluation. Qualtrics allows for basic and sophisticated survey development, in a streamlined, easy to learn format. Data can be readily viewed in a variety of formats and presentations, and exported to compatible programs such as SPSS and Excel. Undergraduate and graduate students may be granted accounts when supervised by faculty or staff for class, research, or work purposes. Before attending the workshop, you should request a Qualtrics account: 1. Go to help.unco.edu, 2. Submit a service ticket, 3. In the ticket description type; survey account request. At the completion of the workshop participants will be able to:

Clicker Technology for the Classroom

Student Response systems can be used to take ‘on the fly’ polls, incorporate questions into a PowerPoint Presentation to confirm student comprehension, take attendance, create quizzes and much more. In addition attendees will learn how to manage results stored in session files from Turning Technologies' software. Import all results into one, central location for easy organization of data. Track participant performance over a period of time to determine cumulative scores or statistics for individuals and groups.
