Faculty Development Support

CETL Teacher and students in discussion

The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CETL) is a university-wide unit which supports faculty, staff, administrators, and teaching assistants in their professional development activities, including the promotion of innovative teaching and learning, scholarship, leadership, and service. The center provides a nexus for information on and support of leadership, mentoring and professional networking. The center also advocates excellence in college teaching and orchestrates resources for proactively meeting the professional development needs of university faculty and staff. In keeping with their educational mission, CETL conducts ongoing workshops on instructional strategies, pedagogy, academic technology, and web-based teaching and learning. For UNC adjunct faculty, the center provides a free copy of A Guide to Classroom Instruction for Adjunct Faculty, 2nd ed., published by the American Society of Chemistry. CETL considers this book a useful nuts-and-bolts guide to developing and managing a college-level course. Please email CETL (CETL@unco.edu) to receive a free copy of the guide and learn more about the support they provide. To better support UNC faculty, staff, and Graduate Teaching Assistants, CETL welcomes feedback and suggestions on services provided and programs offered. Please send any feedback to CETL.
