NSE Application Process
The application process for a National Student Exchange is very straightforward. In order to participate in NSE, you must be:
- Recommended by UNC
- Selected by your host campus
While this process can be completed in a very short amount of time, we highly recommend you plan ahead. Your application, recommendations, and essays are very important parts of your application and are instrumental in securing UNC's recommendation and being placed at a host campus.
Once your NSE application has been submitted, your application will be reviewed by the NSE coordinator. If necessary, an additional interview may be scheduled. Within a week after submitting your application, you should hear from the NSE coordinator regarding UNC's recommendation status. You will then be put up for placement at the schools of your choice.
All applicants must meet both NSE and UNC's eligibility requirements. Meeting the minimum qualifications and submitting your application does not guarantee selection or placement.
Priority Application Deadline: February 15
Mandatory Forms
The NSE application consists of several mandatory forms, which are all included in the NSE application packet. The application forms will be distributed and explained during your one-on-one meeting with the NSE coordinator. To make an appointment, contact nse@unco.edu.
