Educational professionals and classroom teachers must be able to navigate the emerging technologies that drive global interactions and apply content knowledge in complex interconnected ways.

To conquer these challenges, we imagine a learning environment that moves away from the existing print based, teacher-driven, compartmentalized approach to education. We challenge the existing approaches of higher education instruction by proposing a newly conceptualized vision of education that includes innovative academic programs that infuse technology and disciplinary literacy, and community spaces on and off campus that embrace the UNC strategic framework of integrating academics, research, and community.

NOTE: Students admitted for Summer term 2022 or before will apply for and enter the MA or PhD program under the old name (Technology, Innovation and Pedagogy). If you begin under that program/name, you will have the option to update to the new program name once the 2022-23 UNC Graduate Catalog is released.
