The University of Northern Colorado is pleased to announce the:
Endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, with a continuation option in Master of Arts in Teaching: Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education
These programs are designed to prepare educators to meet the learning needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners throughout Colorado and the United States. Emergent bilingual students can achieve academic success when educators and schools provide effective language instruction that promotes and supports academic growth. In many schools across our state and nation, the population of English language learners continues to grow. This program will provide educators with the knowledge and classroom skills needed to meet the diverse language and academic needs of these learners.
We have been preparing linguistically diverse educators for Colorado’s schools for nearly twenty years. You can earn the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement in 16 months, or the full Masters of Arts in Teaching-Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education in just over two years. This online program is designed to fit around your busy work schedule.
Regarding the ONLINE program:
This program is offered through the UNC Office of Extended Studies, which means a flat per-credit tuition rate for all students in the program. There are no student fees. Certain courses may carry specific course fees for additional services and materials.

At the time you are admitted, you will be assigned an academic advisor who will help you establish a Plan of Study customized to your personal qualifications, schedule, and needs.

Admission Requirements:
- Admission to Graduate School
- Teaching licensure or enrollment in a teacher preparation program
Exit Requirements:
- Successful completion of all coursework
- Three credits of literacy instruction
- Evidence of second language learning
