Michael L. Jacobs, ED.D.
Mike Jacobs, Professor of Foundations of Education , Educational Foundations & Curriculum Studies (EFCS), teaches in the areas of Educational Foundations, Curriculum & Instruction, and Secondary Education with specialization in School Law, Classroom Organization & Management, & Human Relations. He also teaches in the School of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education. Dr. Jacobs is on the governing board of UNC’s Center for Collaborative Research in Education (CCoRE) and is an M. Lucile Harrison Professor of the Year.
Dr. Jacobs’ professional experience includes secondary licensure: social studies, certification and licensure as a psychotherapist (with a passion for hypnosis and hypnotherapy), professional mediation, and management training. His research interests include character education, therapeutic intervention, and conflict resolution, and he is a popular lecturer and consultant in the areas of human relations, communication, learning dynamics and personal growth.
