The School of Teacher Education and other units at UNC rely on adjunct faculty to deliver a wide variety of courses. All adjunct faculty have a graduate degree and most have significant professional experience in their fields. Pay rates vary from college to college: College of Education and Behavioral Sciences normally pays $1200 per credit hour. Teaching opportunities are hard to predict, because of the fluctuation of student enrollments, and full time faculty schedule changes.
