Praxis

Informatin on the Praxis test, which is required to be taken by all licensure candidates is below.

  • Registration

    It is recommended that Elementary students take the Praxis test the semester before they are planning to take EDFE 120.  All other programs need to take the test prior to the semester they plan to take EDFE 130.  You must have passed the Praxis test in your area before you can student teach.

    Specific testing dates can be found on the Praxis website.

    When looking for your test, be sure that you enter in the state of Colorado.

  • Program area

    You will want to select your specific area, depending on what program you are enrolled in.  Below are the test titles by program area:

    Early Childhood - Education of Young Children
    Elementary Education - Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
    Secondary Education - Please check with your content advisor for your specific test
    K-12 Education - Please check with your content advisor for your specific test

    Elementary Education - Combined Test 5001

    UNC institution code to send tests is: 4074

    There are study guides available at the Praxis website.

    Elementary Education students may check out study guides from the School of Teacher Education office in McKee 216.
