Application to the Program

To apply for this program, candidates must have:

      • A bachelor’s degree
      • A GPA of at least 3.0 in prior coursework
      • For candidates with a GPA less than 3.0, scores of 900 on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) (quantitative and verbal) and 3.5 on analytic writing samples
      • For international students, a minimum score of 550 or 80 for the internet-based exam

Application process

Apply online, completing steps one through six. For Step 4 (Obtain Letters of Recommendation), note that two letters of recommendation from supervisors who know your work are needed. A recommendation from an academic instructor may be substituted for one of the letters. For Step 5 (Check Department/Program Requirements), note that our program accepts applications at any time. Complete the checklist provided with the application to avoid a delay in processing your application.

Coursework before admission is finalized

You may take up to 9 credit hours of coursework before your application is finalized by applying as a non-degree student.

If your application is denied:

You may ask that your application be reconsidered if you are not accepted based on your initial application. If you would like this decision to be reconsidered, you should send a letter specifying why you believe you should be admitted with specific information on steps you would take to assure successful completion of the program. If further information is needed, you may be asked to come in for an interview.
