Self regulation is becoming more prevelant in today's schools. More an more emphasis is being placed on teachers preparing for a student's life beyond the classroom. Instruction in the classroom are being extended to include a more diverse curriculum. Self regulation helps students take charge of their learning. More strategies are being put to use so that the students are able to build their problem solving skills, and apply what they have learned to everyday life. The emphasis in today's school is how well the teacher self regulates themselves  in class, that has an affect of how well the students will regulate themselves too.
