Evaluation
Criteria
WEBSITE
First of all, I will not grade you on your web page design capabilities.
So don't stress out. I expect all of you to be novices in the art of web
design. Instead, I will focus on the content of your websites. Here are the
main criteria I will focus on:
á
Did
the group complete all aspects of the section?
á
Are
the principles of the motivational topic explained and applied correctly?
á
Is
Calvin analyzed from the perspective of the motivational topic?
á
Is it
informative and useful?
á
Is it clear
that the group has researched this topic and acquired a deep understanding?
á
Do
they provide explanation or do they just make general statements?
á
Do
they provide specific examples?
á
Is the
writing well integrated?
á
Was
the writing clear and easy to read?
á
Was
appropriate grammar and spelling used?
á
Is the
website as a whole cohesive?
á
Is the
information integrated across sections or is it disconnected (or worse,
contradictory)?
I will also
look to see if you addressed the main issues raised in the peer reviews.
I will also use the report of individual responsibilities to determine your individual grade for the website. In most cases, the individual grade is exactly the same as the group grade. However, the individual grade may deviate (positively or negatively) from the group grade if there is a significant discrepancy between your contribution and the group's. I will take into account both the quantity and quality of your contributions.
Peer
reviews will be assessed on the quality of feedback that you give. Overall, I
will look to see whether you give specific, useful comments. If your review
just contains a few general comments like "good job" or "this
section needs work" then it will not get full credit. You should be
specific in identifying and describing what is good, what needs work, and what
sort of changes are recommended.
Your
presentation will be evaluated in terms of the degree to which it was a) useful
and informative, b) interesting and engaging, and c) prepared and organized.
The other students will rate your presentation in terms of these criteria and I
will average the class's rating with my own.
If you do
it, you get full credit. But I will ask you to revise it if it needs some work
(e.g., if an article summary is too misdirected to be useful to other
students).
I will
evaluate the comprehensive plans according to the following criteria:
á
Are
the principles of motivation applied correctly?
á
Do
they make use of relevant information from the other websites?
á
Do
they provide a rationale (based on motivational principles) for the recommended
changes?
á
Do
they provide specific examples of recommended changes?
á
Was
the writing clear and easy to read?
á
Was
appropriate grammar and spelling used?
I will take
individual contribution to the plan into account.
