Epistemological Objectives

Epistemological beliefs are beliefs about knowledge, including beliefs about how it is created and who can create it.

Many of the constructivist and community of learners instructional theories have an explicit goal to change students' epistemological beliefs. Specifically, they want students to come to believe that they can be creators of knowledge as well as receivers of knowledge.
