Dealing with Calvin's Inappropriate Behavior
Calvin's behavior is creative and humorous, but it often undermines his learning and disrupts the learning of other students. We need to find a way to shape Calvin's behavior so that he displays appropriate behavior during class time. The key to success in this endeavor is to do a thoughtful Applied Behavior Analysis. Generally speaking, an Applied Behavior Analysis involves: (1) Identifying the inappropriate and target behavior in observable, measurable terms, (2) Identifying the environmental causes of the behavior, (3) Developing an intervention plan, (4) Monitoring the behavior and revising the intervention as needed, and (5) Fading out the intervention. Your assignment is do an Applied Behavior Analysis for one of Calvin's problem behaviors. Details on this assignment will be sent from SUSIE to your Blackboard interface. If you have any questions, contact Agent Pugh.
