- Chris Watney (MA-Community Counseling-1996), President of the Colorado Children's Campaign was selected to the Denver Posts list of most influential women in Colorado.
- Dr. Fred Hanna received the 2011-2012 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences' teacher of the year award.
- The counseling honor society, Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), initiated 14 new members on Sunday, April 22nd. Keynote speaker and UNC's Dean of Students, Dr. Katrina Rodriguez, spoke about professional development and leadership among counselors. She encouraged each member to leave their comfort zone by take chances as professionals and as leaders. CSI proudly welcomes our newest members.
