NNER
The National Network for Educational Renewal involves 40 colleges and universities, more than 100 school districts, and over 750 partner schools, all working on simultaneous renewal of schools and the education of educators. Ann Foster, formerly of Ft. Collins, Colorado, is the Executive Director of the Network. NNER is governed by a council made up of representative from each of the 23 settings in 20 states. Carol Wilson, Executive Director of the Colorado Partnership for Educational Renewal, is the chair of the Governing Council. Work with partner schools (sometimes called professional development schools) is guided by twenty postulates developed by John Goodland, Ken Sirotnik, and Roger Soder in the Center for Educational Renewal (CER) that was founded in 1985. The Center is currently part of the Institute for the Study of Educational Policy within the College of Education and Behavioral Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Please see the NNER website for updates on projects in the Institute for Educational Inquiry, publications, programs, and newsletters. http://depts.washington.edu/cedren/NNER.htm The 2004 NNER Annual Conference will be held October 21-23, 2004 in St. Louis, Missouri.
