Cultivating a Sense of Community
The UNC Educational Technology Community embraces diversity of students and student interests. We follow a community of scholars’ model at UNC. Students and faculty actively participate in local and national organizations by presenting papers, holding leadership positions, and networking with other professionals.
Students are encouraged to attend informal gatherings where ideas are exchanged in a scholarly atmosphere. The program faculty and students will frequently invite guest speakers to share their research and ideas. Select the link below to learn more about faculty research interests.
To cultivate a sense of community we encourage all students in the program to participate in the listserv, to take advantage of being a guest editor for the program's newsletter, and to attend socials where you will have opportunities to interact with other students as well as faculty.
The listserv should be used for intellectual sharing of information about research, conferences, workshops, and jobs. Appropriate professional etiquette is expected in terms of posting and responding on the listserv.
