Dr. Berlinda Saenz is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the School Library Education Program at University of Northern Colorado (UNC). She received her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Virginia Tech. She also holds a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, and B.A. in Human Services. Dr. Saenz teaches graduate level courses relevant to the School Library Education Program as well as graduate courses in Educational Technology..
Prior to joining the faculty at UNC, Dr. Saenz was an instructional designer at an e-learning company in Denver. Dr. Saenz has been in the business, education and training field for the past 16 years as an instructional designer of e-learning courses, audio specialist, e-learning quality assurance specialist, adjunct, and faculty professional development trainer. She has taught courses related to computer technology integration in the classroom and computer applications to preservice teachers.
Dr. Saenz’s research interests include social presence (learner’s perceptions of online learning experiences), cultivating online learning communities, and online instruction and training.
