Dr. Jeffrey Bauer holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Wyoming. In addition, Dr. Bauer has earned an MBA from California State University and a BA in English Literature from the University of Wyoming.
Before joining the faculty at UNC in 1990, Dr. Bauer managed the College of Education's Media Center at the University of Wyoming and taught junior high English and journalism in the Los Angeles area.
Dr. Bauer was named the college's outstanding teacher of the year in 1994. His research interests include technology integration in the K-12 classroom and he has presented at dozens of workshops, in-service training sessions, and presented papers at local, national, and international levels on this topic.
Currently, Dr. Bauer is working on audio production and editing techniques for various forms of instructional delivery. These include web, CD-ROM, DVD, and audio CD formats. Dr. Bauer uses both analog and digital hardware and software including Digidesign' Pro Tools and various MIDI-based devices to create audio files. Dr. Bauer's interest in audio design stems from a lifelong love of vintage guitars and amplifiers, as well as his excessive and pretentious music collection which includes vinyl, CDs and DVDs.
