Language Development in Children

In the retired Educational Interpreting Certificate Program, two courses formed a unit of learning focusing on how both hearing and deaf children acquire language and use language in school. An implementation guide and additional resources are provided for both courses: 1) Child and Language Development and 2) Language and Learning.

ASL Skill Development

Also from the retired Educational Interpreting Certificate Program, two courses demonstrate the methodology used by the ASL & Interpreting Studies department to provide ASL skills development at a distance. These two distance skills development courses use a guided workbook to help students work through the discourse analysis process and self-assessment of their interpreting skills. An implementation guide and additional resources are provided for both courses: 1) Skill Development II and 2) Skill Development III.

How To Teach Online

Distance Learning and Technology Internship is a course is designed to teach ASL instructors and Interpreter Educators how to design and facilitate courses at a distance. An implementation guide, study guide, lessons, assignments, readings, and PowerPoint are provided.
