• UNC Catering recently provided food, beverage, and bar service to the biggest event in history; the Cattle Barons Ball; a benefit for the American Cancer Society. We set-up a VIP area for a meet and greet with LeAnn Rimes for 80 people, two elaborate buffet displays for 400 people, passed hors d’ouerves for 400 people, a buffet with a Mexican flair for 120 volunteers, and a 3 course served meal for 850 people! The event was a huge success for UNC Catering and the American Cancer Society; they raised over $350,000 net profit from the event! A record-breaking fundraising year!
  • Executive Chef Aran Essig, a long-time veteran of UNC Dining Services, has won a competition for the MINORS “My Story” competition; receiving 42% of the votes out of six candidates! Chef Aran will be traveling to Lyon, France at the end of January to attend the Bocuse d’Or. This particular competition is one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the world; drawing the best chefs from 24 countries to demonstrate the perfection of their craft.
