Campus Recreation
Student Employee Conference Grant Application
ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must be full-time students that are employed by the University of Northern Colorado Campus Recreation Department at the time of the Application Deadline. Employment includes: student-hourly, work-study, undergraduate internship, or graduate assistantship. Applicants must be in “good-standing” with the University of Northern Colorado and receive the approval of their direct supervisor within the Campus Recreation Department.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A fully completed Grant Application, along with associated materials, must be received by the Campus Recreation Student Employee Board, c/o Vincent Carter, Associate Director, by the date(s) provided below.
Associated materials include:
- Recommendation Letter that is external to UNC Campus Recreation Department. Some examples may be: faculty member, supervisor from another/previous job, mentor, etc.
- Conference Information that describes the details of the conference, such as: advertising materials, website information, conference schedule, etc.
- Itemized Projected Budget that includes: conference fees, hotel/lodging costs, and travel expenses.
SPRING 2013 TIMELINE:
Conference Grant Application Deadline: February 15, 2013 by 5:00 PM
Conference Grant Award Date: March 1, 2013
CONFERENCE GRANT AWARD INFORMATION:
The UNC Campus Recreation Student Employee Board (SEB) is offering Conference Grants of $100 each to awarded applicants for use towards approved conferences, workshops, career fairs, or other professional development events. An applicant can only receive 1 Conference Grant from the SEB within each academic year (July to June).
The UNC Campus Recreation Student Employee Board will review applications that are received prior to the Application Deadline provided above. On the Conference Grant Award Date, SEB will announce the winner(s).
Between the Application Deadline and the Award Date, SEB will submit their recommendations for award by using an application score sheet for preliminary review. At an SEB meeting prior to the Award Date, members will review the top 5 scored applications and will vote based on these 5 applicants. Depending on the number of awards available (for 2012, there are 3 Grants), the top application(s) will be awarded the available grant(s).
A check for $100 will be administered to the awarded applicant(s) following their conference. Applicants must present original receipts from their conference that relate to their projected expenses listed in their application materials.
