As the Director of Campus Recreation it is my responsibility to oversee the Campus Recreation staff, programs and services. In addition, a large part of my job involves management of the Campus Recreation operating budget. My background is in facility management as well as Intramural and Club Sports. I came to UNC thirteen years ago after working for the University of South Carolina. I received a bachelor degree from UNC in Recreation Administration and a master degree from Oklahoma State University in Leisure Services Management. In my free time I enjoy golfing, officiating high school football and spending time with my family.
As the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, I primarily oversee the facility and operations of the Campus Recreation Center. I also manage and implement the risk management plan, assessments, and technological resources for the department. I started with UNC Campus Rec in August 2004, after working in Athletics at several other institutions. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management and Business Communications from Allentown College and my Master’s Degree in Recreation Administration from Aurora University. In my free time, I enjoy time at home with my golden retriever, playing golf, and getting lost in the mountains.
As the Graduate Assistant for Operations, I assist in the supervision of the Operations Student Staff and Lifeguards. Additionally, I am involved with the management of programs hosted by Campus Recreation including Halloween at the Rec, Movie in the Pool and Women’s Only Swim nights. I assist the Coordinator in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures for both recreation center patrons and student staff. I represent the Operations Program and Campus Recreation at university events including meetings, recruitment efforts, and special events.
As the Coordinator of Intramural Sports, I am responsible for the recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of the Intramural Sports staff. I also prepare leagues, coordinate registration and team meetings, and schedule contests and facility use. As an undergraduate, I double-majored in the Monfort College of Business and I also received my graduate degree in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. I also officiate high school sports, NCAA Division II College Football and Arena Football.
As the Graduate Assistant of Intramural Sports I am responsible for assisting in the hiring, training and evaluation of officials, scheduling staff and sport leagues, coordinating special events and tournaments and assisting in the day to day intramural activities. My role is to assist the coordinator in promoting intramural sports by gaining more interest and developing our staff. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from right here at the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership. I also officiate high school sports as well as collegiate basketball and softball.
As the Coordinator of Club Sports, I am responsible for the daily operations of all Club Sport teams at UNC and the Club Sport Supervisor staff. I work directly with the Director of Campus Recreation to ensure that all UNC students are given the opportunity to develop personally and professionally on and off of their playing field. I came to UNC in August 2014, after coming from Central Michigan University where I earned my Master’s degree in Administration and was the Graduate Assistant for Club Sports. I am originally from central Indiana, where I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with my Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. IWU is also where my husband and I met, and we are looking forward to experiencing Colorado and being involved in the UNC community. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends.
As the Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness, I am responsible for the daily operations of the fitness program as well as managing the fitness staff which includes both personal trainers and group fitness instructors. I am also responsible for all wellness services including nutrition and massage therapy. Additionally, I oversee the aquatics program and manage the lifeguard staff. I earned my bachelor degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. I then completed my masters degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas. Away from work, I enjoy hiking, taking my Australian Shepherds on adventures, and traveling..
Coordinator Outdoor Pursuits
As Coordinator of Outdoor Pursuits, I oversee the supervision of the Gear Shop staff, Climbing Wall staff, Trip Leaders and the Ropes Course Staff. Additionally, I manage the programs hosted by all Outdoor Pursuits entities to include the trip planning and budgeting, ropes course facilitation and scheduling, and the daily operations of both the indoor climbing wall, blue cruiser bike share and the gear shop equipment procurement and distribution. I development and enforcement of policies and procedures for both Outdoor Pursuits patrons and student staff. I represent the Outdoor Pursuits Program and Campus Recreation at university events including meetings, recruitment efforts, and special events.
Outdoor Pursuits Graduate Assistant
As the Graduate Assistant for the Outdoor Pursuits, I assist in the supervision of the Gear Shop staff, Climbing Wall staff, Trip Leaders and the Ropes Course staff. Other aspects of my job involve coordinating and implementing outdoor programs, workshops, and climbing wall events. This is my first year at UNC. I am excited to work with the great staff at Outdoor Pursuits and explore all of the beautiful places in Colorado. I received my bachelor’s degree in May 2015 at Western Kentucky University in Recreation Administration with a minor in Outdoor Leadership. In my free time I enjoy whitewater paddling, backpacking, and eating good food.
Outdoor Pursuits Graduate Assistant
As a Graduate Assistant for Outdoor Pursuits, I am responsible for overseeing multiple facets of our four program areas: Outdoor Trips, Gear Shop, Climbing Wall, and Ropes Course. I assist in day-to-day operations that advance the program, such as staff development, program management and marketing. I earned a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology here at the University of Northern Colorado while working for Outdoor Pursuits as an undergraduate student. Now, I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science with an emphasis in Biomechanics and I spend most of my free time rock climbing, running, backpacking, practicing yoga, and distributing all of my hard-earned money to REI.
