Fresh Beginnings

Great for beginners or those looking to get back on a healthy track!

The Fresh Beginnings program is designed to give you the information you need to start your path towards a healthier you! With this program you will recieve one nutrition assessment where your nutrition consultant will analyze your diet and work with you to make changes in your food choices where needed.  You also receive a complete fitness assessment which will allow you to gauge where your fitness level is and help you to set attainable goals. Finally, the Fresh Beginnings program puts all the pieces together by including one training session with your personal trainer. The trainer will provide you with a personalized workout and will enable you to have a clear understanding of how to continue to progress on your own.

One on One Training

 

One-on-one training incorporates fitness assessments, goal setting, and health education into challenging workouts specially designed for each individual's specific needs and goals with a nationally certified Personal Trainer. The trainer will be there to instruct you on proper technique, exercise options, and at the same time motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.  Each training session is one hour long.

A minimum of 4 one-on-one training sessions must be purchased.  A full fitness assessment is required with the initial purchase of sessions, follow-up assessments will be completed throughout training as determined by you and the Personal Trainer.  The first session will be dedicated to the fitness assessment and goal setting.  The full fitness assessment includes the following tests:             
       

  • Resting Measures: Heart Rate and Blood Pressure
  • Body Composition: Hip and Waist Circumference, BIA, and 3-site Skinfolds
  • Cardiorespiratory Fitness: Rockport Mile Walk, McArdle Step, or YMCA Bike Test
  • Muscular Endurance: Push-up and 1-minute Half Sit-up Tests
  • Muscular Strength: Estimated 1 Rep Max Test (Leg Press and Bench Press)
  • Muscular Balance/Postural Assessment: Overhead Squat Assessment
  • Flexibility: Modified Sit & Reach Test

 

Buddy TrainingBuddy Training

 

Interested in personal training with a friend?  Buddy sessions are a great option to help you save money and stay motivated.  Buddy training incorporates all the same aspects of one-on-one training, except you get to do it with a friend!  Fitness assessments, goal setting, and health education will be incorporated into challenging workouts specially designed for your needs and goals. The trainer will be there to instruct you on proper technique, exercise options, and at the same time motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.  Each training session is one hour long.(both participants need to complete)

*Prices are listed per one hour session total, not price per person. It is recommended to that you and your “buddy” have similar goals and fitness levels.

Fitness assessments are a great way to help you set goals and gauge your progress. Personal Training Services offers a body composition assessment and a full fitness assessment.  The results from fitness assessments enable you to identify strengths and weaknesses and set realistic and attainable goals.  The body composition assessment will analyze the body’s weight in terms of the absolute and relative amounts of lean body mass and fat mass.  The full fitness assessment tests all components of fitness; body composition, cardiorespriatory fitness, muscular strength & endurance, and flexibility.(not required for body comp test only)

The body composition assessment will include:

  • Hip & Waist Circumference Measures
  • Bioelectrical Impedance (BIA)
  • 3-Site Skinfold Measurement

The full fitness assessment includes the following tests:

Fitness Assessment Pretest Guidelines
To assure the best possible accuracy of the fitness assessment, please follow the guidelines listed below.

  1. No eating or drinking 4 hours prior to testing, (if able)
  2. Please wear appropriate clothing for physical activity  (shorts recommended)
  3. No exercise 12 hours prior to testing
  4. No alcohol consumption 48 hours prior to testing
  5. No diuretic medications 7 days prior to testing
  6. Female Patrons:  please schedule your assessment to avoid menstruation
