The goal of the Campus Recreation Fitness Program is to promote healthy lifestyles and to make fitness available for each person, regardless of current fitness level or experience. The fitness program strives to provide the UNC campus community with fitness opportunities via Strength and Conditioning activities, Group Fitness classes, and Personal Training services.

- Moderate intensity cardiovascular exercise 30 minutes per day, five days per week, or
- Vigorous intensity cardiovascular exercise 20 minutes per day, three days per week , and
- Eight to ten strength-training exercises, with 8-12 repetitions of each exercise, two times per week
