Club Sports Field Day is August 29th @ West Campus Fields!
UNC Club Sports and Roma’s Pizza are working together this year through a sponsorship, which stemmed from our Executive Council members wanting to establish the programs first sponsorship in April of 2014. Roma’s Pizza has been Greeley’s pizza and beer joint since 1988, and is well known as having a fun environment and receives annual awards like: Greeley’s best pizza, take-out, lunch, vegetarian food, and drink specials. All Club Sports athletes will receive special deals throughout the school year, and for our annual awards banquet Roma’s Pizza will cater the event. This is the first full school year for Roma’s Pizza and UNC Club Sports to establish a sponsorship, and are looking forward to supporting each other throughout the year.
Club of the Year - 2014-2015
The University of Northern Colorado Swimming team is the 2014-2015 Club of the Year! Club Swimming set the bar high for their fellow clubs with their level of involvement within the UNC community. They excelled in and out of the pool this year, earning 100% in our evaluation system, which includes earning Incentive Points, community service, and fulfilling the duties that each club is held to. This was their first full year as a Club Sport, and they were able to host their inaugural swim meet in the Campus Recreation Center pool in February. This was a huge success, and the women placed 1st against Colorado State and Mesa. This young team was also able to travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the East Coast Collegiate Swim and Dive National Championship. Their Vice President, Erin L., placed 15th in the 50 Fly and 16th in the 100 Fly out of approximately 300 swimmers per event. Their 400 Medley Relay team placed 25th out of 76 teams, and their 400 Free Relay placed 22nd. Overall, this team was a great example of what the Club Sports Program is here at UNC, and are very proud of our team! They went above and beyond any and all expectations this year. Congratulations on an amazing year!
