Ultimate Frisbee

Club Information:

Developed in 1968, Ultimate is a fairly new sport that combines aspects of Basketball, Football, and Soccer on a field with two end zones and played with a Frisbee. As one of the largest growing sports in the world, Ultimate is played in more than 80 countries by an estimated 7 million people of all ages. Universally, Spirit of the Game is the governing force of the sport, creating the unique experience without referees, and a culture of family and respect. All types of athletes, no matter your gender, with any variety of skills levels are welcome on the field. All players are encouraged to improve their skills, play hard, and warmly welcomed into the Ultimate family. We are proud to stand on the basis of what Ultimate was founded upon, along with the values that the universal family of Ultimate players hold to. The team holds two tournaments in the academic year; Cow Patty in the spring, and Go for the Gould in the fall in honor of their late teammate, Aaron Gould, in order to support his academic program at UNC. The team had a large amount of success during the 2015-2016 season and hope to continue their success for the 2016-2017 school year.
