Scholarships Past Events
Bresnahan-Halstead Center scholarship awards were made to two students to support conference registration for attendance/presentations at the Affective Needs Conference and the Association of College Educators—Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
Three awards were made to provide tuition and/or stipends for students pursuing advanced degrees in the field of Special Education.
PEAK Parent Centerís 2012 Conference on Inclusive Education, Denver
- The Bresnahan-Halstead Center provided 6 scholarships for families and educators to attend the PEAK Parent Center Conference on Inclusive Education. Presenters addressed multiple topics of importance to both educators and parents. Recipients of the scholarships took away critical best practices information and concrete strategies for inclusion of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of life
SIAS International University of Zhengzhou, China and Kasetsart University, Thailand
- Partnerships have been established with SIAS in China and Kasetsart University in Thailand to provide scholarships MA students and a Ph.D student in their educational programs here at UNC. These collaborations in personnel preparation will continue to expand, ultimately meeting the needs of students with disabilities worldwide.
Doctoral Student Scholarship
- Emphasis in Significant Support Needs
- Support was allocated to award one doctoral student (program emphasis in significant support needs) full-time tuition/fees and a .50 stipend. Support of a doctoral level student in this personnel preparation program will ultimately meet the needs of students with disabilities.
