Support open access journals
It is your hard work, it is your funding, it is your idea, it is your writing,......but you do NOT own the copyright for the journal article that YOU publish!!!!!!! Does it make sense??? Do you know:
1. Harvard University Law faculties vote to publish articles in open access formats only.
2. Faculties of College of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University also decided to publish scholarly articles freely online.
3. NIH made it mandatory to publish NIH funded research in publicly available formats.

Biofuel research
Energy crops are agricultural crops grown for Biofuels. The current research involves use of plants and microbes to produce hydrocarbons which has similar chemical properties as diesel fuel. We are in the process of cloning putative genes which may pay important roles in plants durinlg the biofuel production pathway.
Cryo genomics
Plant germplasms are stored cryogenically in liquid nitrogen. Plant cells experience various types of stresses including dehydration stress, salt stress, oxidative stress. Using the tools of genomics (microarray and real time RT PCR) we are studying the differential gene expressions in plants under cryostress. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Gayle Volk's lab in USDA, Fort Collins.
