Trish Escobar

I’ve been working at UNC almost 16 years, and am currently the Director of the César Chávez Cultural Center

I love working with and for students. The Cultural Center offers student service of the best kind. We are a resource for students, but our mission is to recruit and retain Latino students by fostering an environment that will enhance their educational experience. This is a safe place for all students to receive help or else be referred to the appropriate office on campus.

We do a lot of programming at the Cultural Center that is aimed at creating an inclusive climate and culture at UNC. We celebrate the Day of the Dead, Hispanic Heritage Month, September 16th, César Chávez Week and the Annual Salsa Dance among others.

We also engage in recruitment, targeting mostly Latino students from elementary through high school age. We also have two annual youth leadership conferences that targets eighth grade Latino students in the Greeley area.

Students will always be the most precious commodity at the César Chávez Center!
