  2. Scholarship recipients are determined through the UNC Universal Scholarship Application, the School of Music Admission Application, indvidual School of Music Audition and FAFSA.

  1. "2-10-12" Music Scholarship

  2. Second semester freshman and above students studying in the wind and percussion instrumental music program; show promise of talent; 3.0 GPA.

  1. Buddy Baker Trombone Scholarship

  2. Trombonists who are full-time students in music on the basis of talent, skill and potential; 3.0 GPA; must study trombone privately and perform as needed in "major" and/or jazz ensembles.

  1. Charmaine Purdy Coppom Scholarship

  2. Full-time undergraduate or graduate female student; 3.0 GPA; be a mezzo-soprano in the voice program in the School of Music working on a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Music Education, Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, or Doctor of Arts degree.

  1. Dale Dykins Award

  2. Enrolled in the Theory and Composition Department; further qualifications determined by theory faculty.

  1. Kevin Easley Memorial Guitar Scholarship

  2. Full or part-time talented guitar students committed to music exploration; creative ability; may include music education; transfer students, minimal GPA and diverse prior education such as home schooling, GED, or specialized schooling will be acceptable.

  2. Guitar students willing to teach music at the Weld Community Opportunity School.

  1. Kenneth G. Evans Oboe Scholarship

  2. Undergraduate music education oboe major in good standing academically and socially.

  1. Dr. James Fittz Cello Scholarship

  2. School of Music major with emphasis in cello and GPA of 3.0 or greater. Student must demonstrate consistent commitment to accomplishment in cello performance ability with recommendation by the cello department & approval from the string family.

  1. John H. Fluke Memorial Award

  2. Junior or senior music education major who shows special interest in teaching children with disabilities; academic excellence.

  1. Taryn Galow Scholarship

  2. Female student majoring in double bass in the School of Music working on a Bachelor of Music Performance, Bachelor of Music Education or Master of Music Program.

  1. Homer Gammill Scholarship Award

  2. Junior or senior majoring in vocal music; at least 3.0 GPA.

  1. Henry T. & Blanche L. Ginsburg Music Scholarship

  2. Scholarship in the School of Music based on merit & talent in performance; 3.0 GPA.

  2. Areas of greatest need; preference given to scholarships or assistantships for Keyboard majors.

  1. Virginia McKrill Husman Piano Scholarship

  2. Music major with a piano emphasis; awarded to a student based soley on merit, without regard to financial status, limitations, or eligibility for financial assistance.

  1. Steven H. Jostes Memorial Music Scholarship

  2. Member of a high school jazz ensemble who plays trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, guitar, bass or drums, preferably accomplished in jazz improvisation; audition tape; must become member of the UNC jazz ensemble.

  1. Adolph Lesser Scholarship

  2. Full-time students enrolled in the School of Music with GPA of 3.0 or greater; must demonstrate talent & play woodwind or brass instrument

  2. Undergraduate Colorado resident; music major; demonstrating talent, ability, and future promise in field.

  2. Music major with selection of recipient based on talent.

  2. Full-time undergraduate; French horn major; 3.0 GPA.

  2. Music major; play an instrument in the UNC Jazz Ensemble; 3.0 GPA

  1. Pearson Family Band & Music Education Scholarship

  2. Freshmen meeting minimum entrance requirements or upper class students with 3.0 GPA; band students with music education major who intend to become music teachers.

  2. Junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in music; good academic standing; demonstrated financial need; talent.

  2. Music major with an emphasis in Trumpet.

  2. Piano major student in the School of Music with a 3.0 GPA or greater; must demonstrate talent

  2. Full-time student; demonstrate positive Vocal potential; be in Voice program working towards a Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music or Doctor of Arts; 3.0 GPA.

  1. Robert T. Stach Performing Arts Scholarship

  2. Theatre or vocal music majors; completed a minimum of 60 credit hours; preference given to students from the Hawaiian Islands; 3.0GPA.

  1. Stillwell Vocal Music Scholarship

  2. Graduate of a Colorado high school; preferably in Greeley, Colorado; majoring in Vocal Music.

  1. Matthew R. Tieman Memorial Scholarship

  2. Trombone major accepted into School of Music; out-of-state resident from Wyoming; freshman student; 3.0 GPA; shows interest in jazz.

  2. Declared Music major at the Junior, Senior, or graduate level; 3.0 GPA; award or merit.

  1. Wayman and Jo Walker Scholarship

  2. Full-time music education major who shows promise and ability with a wind or percussion instrument; must be a member of the Concert Bands; 3.0 GPA.

  1. Dorothea Weber Wallace Memorial Scholarship

  2. Music major, preferably with emphasis in piano; minimum 3.0 GPA.

Graduate Scholarships

  1. JPMorgan Chase Graduate Fellowship in Music Technology

  2. Graduate music technology student; special consideration given to low income and minority candidates; show academic achievement, creative and performance ability, and potential for future development.

  2. Must be a graduate of any Greeley High School entering UNC as a new freshman or completing the freshman year at UNC; admitted to an arts degree program; Must continue in the arts degree program to receive the second half of the award; enrolled full-time at UNC.
