Justin Zanchuk serves as Instructor of Music at the University of Northern Colorado where his responsibilities include teaching applied trumpet as well as instrumental techniques and conducting. He concurrently serves as Assistant Director of the "Pride of the Rockies" Marching Band.
Mr. Zanchuk received his Bachelor of Music from Texas Tech University in 2004 and his Master of Music from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in 2006. His principal trumpet teachers include Will Strieder (Professor, Texas Tech University), Craig Morris (former Principal Trumpet, Chicago Symphony and Professor, University of Miami), Thomas Booth (Assistant Principal Trumpet, Dallas Symphony) and Marvin Perry (Principal Trumpet, Indianapolis Symphony). His principal conducting teachers include Dr. Kenneth Singleton and Dr. Richard Mayne (Professors, University of Northern Colorado), Gary Green, (Professor, University of Miami) and Gary Lewis (Professor, Texas Tech University).
Prior to his time at UNC, Mr. Zanchuk served as the Associate Director of Bands at Cypress Ridge High School in Houston, Texas where he conducted the Concert Bands and Symphony Orchestra, as well as taught Advanced Placement Music Theory and marching band.
Mr. Zanchuk has been an active performing musician throughout Texas, Florida and Colorado, having most recently performed with the Greeley Chorale as well as the symphonies of Ft. Collins and Steamboat Springs.
