Justin Zanchuk serves as Instructor of Trumpet at the University of Northern Colorado. He is concurrently serving as Assistant Director of the "Pride of the Rockies" Marching Band.
Mr. Zanchuk received his Bachelor of Music from Texas Tech University in 2004 and his Master of Music from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in 2006. His principal trumpet teachers include Will Strieder (Professor, Texas Tech University), Craig Morris (former Principal Trumpet, Chicago Symphony and Professor, University of Miami), Thomas Booth (Assistant Principal Trumpet, Dallas Symphony) and Marvin Perry (Principal Trumpet, Indianapolis Symphony). Prior to his time at UNC, Mr. Zanchuk served as the Associate Director of Bands at Cypress Ridge High School in Houston, Texas where he conducted the Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra, as well as taught Advanced Placement Music Theory and marching band.
Mr. Zanchuk can be heard on a number of recordings from the Mark Custom label, as well as on the album Reflections from the Naxos Wind Band Classics label. He has been an active performing musician throughout Texas, Florida and Colorado, having most recently performed with the symphonies of Ft. Collins and Steamboat Springs.
