Dr. Heeseung Lee: UNC Music Faculty
Professor of Music, Music History
Dr. Heeseung Lee earned her Ph.D. in musicology from the University of North Texas in 2006, and a Master of Music degree in music history and a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance both from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea.
Before joining the UNC music faculty, she taught at Aims Community College, University of Denver, and University of North Texas.
Dr. Lee has presented papers on Beethoven’s folksong arrangements and early nineteenth-century German nationalism in regional conferences of American Musicological Society.
Dr. Lee's research interests include Beethoven’s chamber music with piano, amateur music making, and the idea of Bildung in early nineteenth-century German-speaking lands.
