Welcome to Bear Company!
Army ROTC is one of the best leadership courses in the country and is part of your college curriculum. During classes, leadership labs, physical training and field training exercises, you will learn firsthand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups and conduct missions as an Officer in the Army. Upon graduation from Army ROTC, you will earn the bar of a Second Lieutenant and be commissioned into the Active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard and become a leader for life. Bear Company, as part of the Ram Battalion, will conduct tough, realistic training in both field & garrison environments in order to form a cohesive unit of highly motivated, professional, physically fit, integrity driven warrior-leaders who embody the Warrior Ethos and upon commissioning, are 100% prepared to lead soldiers in a time of war.
Room and Board Stipend
All ROTC 4-year scholarships pay full tuition and mandatory fees, a book allowance, and a monthly stipend. At Colorado State University, however, the university pays a portion of incoming scholarship cadets' room and board expenses. This is not the case for a majority of ROTC programs across the nation. At CSU, all first year students must live in the dorms (with a few exceptions), so the ROTC Room and Board Stipend is a great help! The amount of Room and Board Stipend a cadet will receive is based on the amount of 4-year scholarship cadets in an incoming class as the funds available are distributed evenly to all cadets. This fall, assuming the same number of 4-year scholarship recipients report to CSU Army ROTC as last year, each cadet could receive up to $3,000 in Room and Board Stipend. Cadets must maintain minimum standards of academic and physical fitness performance in order to maintain the Room and Board Stipend over the course of the year.
