Receiving a scholarship can mean the difference between completing or quitting the pursuit of an education. In 2019, 25 students were surprised to learn that they would receive an $8000 scholarship toward the continuation their UNC education, a gift inspired by an act of generosity that occurred 60 prior.

Shawn Tebben is the inaugural Allen McConnell Endowed Chair in Accounting for the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business and will join the Accounting faculty this fall. Her 10-year life goal to teach college realized, Tebben kicks off her time at UNC with gratitude to professor Allen McConnell and UNC’s generous donors to the Allen McConnell Endowed Chair.
